Baby Ruth is involved in documentary co-productions as a producer and director championing Asian stories for the global audience. She earned her Master’s Degree in Film Marketing and Distribution with commendation at the Birmingham City University as a Chevening Scholar, where in she won the British Council’s Global Social Impact Award for generating conversations and policy reforms on modern-day issues such as migration, youth and and mental health through her films. She’s a co-founder of Voyage Film Studios, which provides line production support to fellow filmmakers as well as offline and online post-production services. She’s also a cofounder of Filipino Documentary Society (FilDocs), which gave the Philippines the memorable Daang Dokyu (daangdokyu.ph), a celebration of the best Philippine documentaries in commemoration of the 100th year of Philippine cinema. Baby Ruth is currently in the executive board of the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines, upholding freedom of expression and a safer working environment for film workers. She’s a visiting lecturer at the UP Film Institute, and a member of the prestigious Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences under the documentary branch voting for the Oscars. She’s a student of life and a cat lover.
