Alvaro Luque started studying audiovisual communication in Lima, then moved to Argentina to study at the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC). After having returned to Perú he worked as an advertising director. He co-created the production company Saturno, which received local and international recognition; among them “Best Local Production Company” in the “Ojo de Iberoamérica” two consecutive years (2016-2017). Likewise, he has been chosen as “Best Local Director”. His first projects as a director led him to collaborate with excellent creatives who travel around the world with their ideas; which were accompanied by well-deserved recognition like Cannes Lions, AD&D, Clio, El Sol, etc. Creating images excites me and makes me happy. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I feel like it's the best I can do. I’m always looking to keep growing. In my process as a director, I approached documentary language and in it, I learned a way of communicating. I am convinced that the real representation of people is the way to tell stories that transcend. As I write this I am aware that filming gave me purpose and that drives me to give my all to the projects I work on. He has been dedicated to directing for more than fifteen years.
